"His paintings are a place of daydreaming and of longing for warmth and relaxation, exactly as the island on which he himself grew up, the island Hvar. With seemingly simple sketches on a colorful background, he creates poetic, peaceful and harmonious works, in the manner of old masters."

-Dr. Dieter Kotz

Go has lived and worked as a freelance artist since 1980, presenting his paintings on numerous exhibitions both in Croatia and abroad. He studied painting under the mentorship of professor Borko Lazeski. Go’s origins are in Dol, his father’s birthplace, and the island Brač, where his mother – born in the family of Ivan Rendic, the pioneer of Croatian sculpture – comes from. Goran had fallen in love with Stari Grad and sold his first paintings on Stari Grad seafront during the late ‘80s.

Since May 1992, Go has lived and worked in Berlin where, in December of the same year, he became a member of the Berlin Association of Visual Artists (Berufsverband Bildender Künstler Berlin). His works have been awarded and supported several times by various foundations: 1994 by Arts Fund in Bonn, 1995 by Artist Promotion Fund of the Berlin Senate, 1996 by Käthe-Dorsch Foundation scholarship and others.

Go used his paintings as a tool for helping children – victims of the war in the Balkans. This includes giving one of his paintings – “The Mostar Bridge” – to the actress Maria Schell, as a sign of gratitude for her peace efforts in Bosnia. In March 2006, alongside other
internationally acclaimed artists, Goran took part in a Christie’s auction “Breaking the Ice”, with all the revenue being used for projects concerning the reconciliation of Jews, Christians and Muslims.
